SCIENCE KILLS GRAPHIC
I had almost forgotten how this thing worked but then I remembered I learned about it during high school science class. I know it has been shown in movies and the Simpsons and all, but scientifically, its much more complicated.(Takes deep breath....) The body of the bird is actually a type of thermometer, which contains mercury at the bulbous end of the bird. When one tilts the "head" of the bird into a glass, it gets... ( I know, duh.) wet. And cooler.
So then all the mercury travels to the bottom, making it bottom heavy. While upright, the head dries and then comes to room temperature thus causing the mercury to climb up into the head again.
That is until it is top heavy again, and dips his head into the glass. Therefore starting the whole process over again. This is MY understanding of how it works, which pretty much debunks those movies/tv shows uses of the birds.Wow, that took longer than I anticipated.I have submitted it to THREADLESS T-shirts and it just went live today. So help a brother out and vote vote vote guys! thanks and you can check it out here:Thanks for reading everyone and as always, enjoy!Labels: graphicvectors threadless science kills t-shirt submission
